In-house time management training and team developmentThis large, global company is emphasising work/life balance as an important human resources theme. Consequently, a key department requested that a time management program be conducted, incorporating the work/life balance theme. The program included: Time management principles and techniques; A session on overall life balance priorities as well as a general discussion of work-life balance issues; and Team development activities. Although all of Derek’s training programs are needs based, the presence of all the department staff was very helpful. Arising out of a discussion raised by a number of participants, Derek was able to facilitate a discussion. The discussion canvassed various actions the team could take to improve the department’s control of external demands. It also covered methods to improve meeting quality. Team members subsequently implemented the action points discussed during the training. Consequently, the team as a whole benefited as well as individuals. This is one example of how Derek Stockley’s experience adds to his consulting work.
