Monitoring traffic to improve website performance with Web-Stat traffic analysis software

Derek Stockley explains the Web-Stat traffic monitoring software. Web-Stat provides website statistics that give a good overview of the performance of your individual web pages and your site as a whole.

Easy to use but comprehensive web statistics are essential

In Web Statistics Overview, I outlined the importance and features of a good web statistics package.

I have used a variety of different statistics packages and I have also had access to statistics software used by my clients.

My web host for this website provides a comprehensive traffic monitoring package, but unfortunately the statistics are not available in "real time".

I have been very happy with my choice of Web-Stat traffic analysis software for the following reasons:

Web-Stat provides 'up to the second' reporting. The various reports are immediate, whether they are providing an overview or detailed analysis.

They are easy to access.

They give me the information I need, when I want it. The reports are easy to read and it doesn't take lots of page views to gain an overview. Other statistics packages I have used are too 'compartmentalised'.

The reporting is consistently available. In over 3 years, I would have had 99.99% availability (my guesstimate).

My website statistics are private - in the paid versions others cannot see my statistics.

The traffic analysis software handles a variety of website structures and approaches (in my case, parts of my site uses frames).

The support staff are helpful and reliable. Most importantly, they answer my queries. I have not received one standardised "one size fits all reply" to any of my questions or queries.

Web-Stat provided me with the information I needed. With their help, I exceeded the site visitor target I set for the first 12 months and each time period after that.

My website is a very important part of my business. Consequently, I regard WebStat as far more than a service provider. Web-Stat is a key part of my operations.

A few years ago there was a very successful advert where the person so liked the product, he "bought the company". I haven't tried or done that, but I have done the next best thing - I have become a Web-Stat affiliate.

When you sign up, Web-Stat will provide the information you need to quickly implement the system. On a small website, installing the statistics javascript takes about 15 minutes. If you want to monitor your home page only, you can do it in 5 minutes. You choose the pages you wish to monitor.

Take advantage of the uptime monitoring service (paid services). Web-Stat can check your site every 15 minutes or so, to ensure you are online. This is your independent assurance that your webhost is meeting your requirements. (If your web host already provides this service, it is still beneficial to use both services.)

I believe the small monthly charge is well worth it . I have the top level premium service - it costs me less than $13AUD per month. I know what web visitors are doing on my site at the macro (big picture) level. I also know what they are doing at the micro level - I can sample individual visitor behaviour - see which pages they viewed, how long they spent, where they exited - all helping me to maximise the quality of the visitor experience.

Web-Stat has helped my business to grow. It has paid for itself many times over.

I undertake rigourous assurance processes before I recommend a service in this way. I believe that Web-Stat has successfully combined simplicity with a comprehensive information service.

You can sign up for a 30 day free trial or purchase at 30 Day free trial or sign up - Web-Stat Traffic Analysis.
