Explanation of Web Consulting Offer

In Web Assistance, I outlined how the development of Web Site Design and Construction had led me to make a special offer.

This is to provide training and development assistance to webmasters involved in a business or organisation.

The principle benefit is to enable participants to control, monitor, maintain and upgrade their web site/s or individual web pages. As part of the project, or as a stand-alone exercise, search engine optimisation can be undertaken.

The essential requirements for assistance are:

- You are prepared to invest time and money into the project. Initially, one to two full days of your time will be required. Then probably six to eight hours per week for one to two months. Ongoing page maintenance and updates will require one-two hours per week. My fee for a comprehensive assistance package would be AUD$2200 minimum in Australia. Depending on your existing resources, you may need to invest in additional computer software and hardware as well.

The desirable eligibility requirement for assistance is:

- You are located in the Melbourne area of Victoria, Australia. This is to enable me to make a personal visit to your location to obtain important information and to assess how your organisation operates (without incurring travel costs).

If you are located elsewhere, it may be possible to communicate by phone or by email etc. This will depend on the complexity of your requirements.

How would the web consultancy operate?

My training and management consulting approach is outlined at: Derek Stockley Consultancy Approach.

The steps in establishing the consultancy would follow this process:

1. You email me or send a letter expressing your interest and providing background information e.g. contact details, existing web addresses, organisation facts (no. of employees, products, services, etc.).

2. After reviewing the information and doing some background research, I will telephone you to discuss the feasibility of the assignment.

3.a. If we agree, and after further research, we would meet at your premises (optional).

3.b. We would discuss the details and parameters of the project.

4. If the project is viable, I would provide a project proposal indicating project activities, costs, obligations and time frames.

Up to this point, the process is free and without obligation on your part (excluding travel costs for travel away from Melbourne.)

5. If accepted, the project would proceed in accordance with the plan outlined in the proposal.

Potential benefits include:

You will be able to review, improve and update your pages in accordance with good web page design principles (DIY - Do It Yourself).

Your pages will be informative, attractive and search engine friendly.

If you are currently using an external web page developer, you may eliminate or reduce these external costs.

Search engine optimisation (if undertaken).

You will be able to review, improve and update your pages to enhance search engine listings (DIY - Do It Yourself).

You will not need ongoing, professional SEO consultant assistance.

Training and development

You and other key staff members will develop computer skills associated with web page production and web hosting.

Business and strategy consulting

Derek Stockley will provide general business and strategy advice and recommendations on opportunities for improvement discovered during the conduct of the project.

Management coaching and development

You will develop your management skills.
