Success Rituals: 5 Things Efficient People Do Before 9 AM To Make Their Day Better

We all have the potential to get the most out of each day and go to sleep at night feeling fulfilled and satisfied with our achievements. Yet, not all of us are setting ourselves up to be successful in everything we put our minds to.

If you want to be a more efficient person who can tick most daily tasks off your to-do list, here are five things you can do before 9 AM:

Wake Up Early

Even if you work from home and take advantage of low-cost virtual offices to avoid a long commute to the CBD, that doesn’t mean you should sleep in until the moment you need to start work. Try to wake up early, and you might be surprised by how efficient and organised you are to start your day.

Waking up early enables you to prepare for the day without rushing. You don’t need to skip breakfast because you’ve got time to enjoy it, and you can even plan out your entire day before sitting down to work. When you get up early, you may even have time to enjoy a hobby or spend time with your loved ones before gently transitioning into work mode.

Hydrate

Reaching for a glass of water as soon as you wake up might not be the first thing you feel like doing, but it can be worthwhile to include in your morning routine. You can rehydrate your body after sleeping, kickstart your metabolism, and even improve your focus for the day ahead.

However, don’t just stop at one glass of water. Australian health authorities recommend eight to 10 cups of fluids daily, or 2.1 to 2.6 litres. Keep drinking water throughout the day to stay hydrated.

Exercise

We all know how important exercise is for maintaining a healthy body weight, but it can also be the key to success when you want to get the most out of every day. A short walk, yoga, or even stretching are all great morning activities that boost your energy levels, reduce stress, and enhance your mental clarity for the day ahead.

Many people also see the value in attending morning gym classes so they can achieve their fitness goals and be social simultaneously.

Eat a Healthy Breakfast

While the majority of Australian men eat breakfast regularly, the same can’t be said for all Australians. Some of us are still skipping it! However, prioritising a healthy, balanced breakfast every day can be important when you want to satiate your hunger and focus on your work.

There are many great breakfast options to enjoy, even when you’re short on time, such as cereal, fruit, toast, porridge, and yoghurt.

According to Nutrition Australia, breakfast can improve energy levels, metabolism, memory, and concentration. It also stabilises your blood sugar levels and reduces the likelihood of over-consuming high-kilojoule foods.

Tidy Your Space

Whether you work from a home office or a commercial building, don’t underestimate the value of keeping a tidy workspace. A clean, organised environment promotes a clear, organised mind!

Before you start your working day, spend five minutes tidying up your space and organising everything you need for the day.

Not every work day will go to plan or feel overly productive. Still, that doesn’t mean you can’t improve your chances. By waking up early, eating a nutritious breakfast, and making other healthy changes, you may be surprised by how efficient you can be during the working week.
